Terms of Service
Last updated 10 August 2026
Using Tallgrass means agreeing to what follows. It is short on purpose.
What the service is
Tallgrass is a research tool. It records posts you are already viewing on Facebook and ranks each one against the median engagement of its own source, so a strong post in a small group is not buried under a mediocre post from a large one. It is operated by MacRandle Acres.
Your account
You are responsible for your login and your API key. Do not share them — anyone holding your API key can write posts into your account. If you believe your key has leaked, reissue it from the Account page, which immediately invalidates the old one.
Using it responsibly
You agree not to:
- use the extension on an account that is not yours;
- attempt to reach groups, pages or profiles your own account cannot already see;
- run scans at a rate intended to overload Facebook, or to evade its rate limits;
- republish or resell the captured content of others as though it were your own;
- resell, sublicense or repackage Tallgrass itself;
- use it to harass, profile or target any individual.
Facebook is not affiliated with us
Tallgrass is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or in any way connected to Meta Platforms, Inc., Facebook, or any of their products. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Your use of Facebook remains governed by Facebook's own terms. Automated collection may be restricted by them, and it is your responsibility to stay within the rules of any platform you scan. We cannot and do not indemnify you against action taken by Facebook on your account.
Plans and billing
The free plan is free and stays free. Pro is billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, renews automatically, and can be cancelled at any time from the Account page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
We do not automatically refund partial periods. If something went wrong, write to us — refunds are handled case by case and we would rather sort it out than argue.
Prices may change. Existing subscribers get notice before a change affects their renewal.
Your data, and losing it
Your captured posts are yours. We claim no ownership of them and do not publish them.
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot lose. Tallgrass is not a backup service. Depending on how your instance is hosted, captures may not survive a restart — where that is the case the dashboard warns you at the top of every page.
No warranty
Tallgrass is provided as is. Facebook changes its markup without notice, and when it does, scans can miss posts or read counts incorrectly until we catch up. We do not warrant that captured figures are complete or accurate, and you should not treat them as an authoritative record. Scoring is a signal, not advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, MacRandle Acres is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, for lost profits, or for lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.
Ending it
You may stop and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms or that puts the service at risk, and will say why where we reasonably can.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top changes, and material changes are announced in the app. Continuing to use Tallgrass after that means accepting the new version.
